Google's Knol seems like something to look at. Are these knols going to rank #1 in Google for a lot of terms? The unanswered question is, will the "reference" links use a nofollow tag like Wikipedia? Without an answer to that question, it's hard to know what to make of the whole thing.

An internal linking system would be best, no out going links, just links to other knol pages that support or refute the current knol that you are reading.
